Shop & Lift rentals
There's been a thread here in the past about the viability of having a shop that would rent shop space, lifts and tools to DIY mechanics. I got a flyer today for a local place that recently opened that does just that: Car Repair Carmichael - California Auto Repair Shop | U Fix It Automotive There are a couple others around Sacramento that have been in business for a while now.
I have no experience any of these places, but it looks like an interesting concept.

Burn the fire.

High risk/liability.
I see ads on craigslist often down here, but they get flagged and removed.

What's the content of the ad and why would it get removed?

When I use to work on base they had a place that would be a part store and diy service bay to work on your car. You had to be active duty to use it. Dont know what the rental rate was.

I've rented my lift out a couple times. I don't get enough demand/inquiry to make it available full time.

My bet would be shop owners flagging it..

There was a U-Fix-It here for a while, but they eventually changed to more of a "We-Fix-It and Charge-U-For-the-Repair." When I discovered them it was $15/hr. and they provided all tools, air, fluid disposal, etc. Once I took 1.5 hrs. and they wouldn't let me pay more than $15. The owner had sold his 964 to buy the place and so he wanted to hook up a fellow P-car guy. But I was happy to pay $30 and he wouldn't take it, which might explain why they had to change. Then they switched to not being open on weekends, which I really couldn't understand. So I tried to reserve a lift before making the 20 mile drive and they wouldn't take reservations. I took my chances and the place was full with a waitlist. So I just couldn't go there anymore and now they don't rent lifts anymore. I really wish someone could make this work and right by my house.

They had a place where I live in the late 70's that rented space/tools by the hour, they had hoists and a mechanic for questions/advise, it was great and I used the place several times, they lasted about a year then moved or went outta bizz, I thought it was a great idea but when you think about it most car guys have tools & space, these days I'd imagine insurance would be big.
