USPS broken/open package and mysterious rod
Traded another member some nos porsche carpet, for some "big blacks" brake pads. Ha ha
Anyways, the package came opened, but with this little guy inside. Can anyone id it? Other guy swears he didn't include it. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1412729408.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1412729462.jpg |
Almost appears to be a AA battery, check for voltage?
|
Yeah it's pulling 3.79 volts! It's about about 1.5x the diameter and length of a AA battery.
|
Funny how whenever I ship anything they freak out if there are any batteries........ Strange. ..
|
Someone in Santa Cruz near where my sister lives has been leaving old school baseball cards on people's windshields for months...maybe he works for the post office and batteries are his gift of choice there? :)
|
Looks like a lithium ion battery...like the kind that Tesla power packs are made of???

They broke open two packages and stuffed the "battery" in yours because they had no idea where it belonged. :)

Haha, yes! |
.
So it's not a bullet. That's good news. :D . |
Looks like the 18650 battery I use in my vaporizer. Just not wrapped in green or insulated at the top.

She came home after graduation, unpacked her suitcase and there was a bullet hole threw her uniforms. We then noticed the hole in her suitcase. Hmmm.... |
Hmmm. ( :eek::eek::eek:)

I had something similar happen in August, with a package going to Australia... this is what he received. Most certainly not what I sent...

It is probably the new system to get rid of the tainted EBOLA waste products in Dallas. They just add it to the packages of random customers to spread the waste around.
You are lucky you did not get the jumbo waste disposal Sears rooftop cargo carrier instead. |
Looks like one of the ferrous batteries they use in the cheapo Harbor Freight solar lights.

What did you send? Guitar parts? That looks like the end of a rennline strut bar. Do you have one? Since it looks like a car part are you sure the mix up wasn't on your end? |
The other guy wants trade backies. Guess the color didn't match his car?... Anyways what would y'all do?
|
Depends on what kind of relationship you want w/him, I'd guess.
Also, now that you've posted, it's all about your reputation, eh? Best, |

The carpet in my 13' golf is already fading, and it's black. Trade backs... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat5.gif |
Now the rest of the story.
I contacted this guy when I saw his ad posted. The picture looked more like linen than Tan. I compared the pic he texted me with my interior and it looked the same. I pulled a color sample from the Internet and texted it to him asking if it was Linen 698. He responded yes that is it. I told him I was interested but thought his price was a little high and asked him if he was interested in any trades. We determined that he was interested in trading for a used set of Pagid Blacks that had 60-70% pad left. We agreed and we shipped to each other. When he received the brake pads he wrote "I wish you would have added packing. All the pads are cracked from being dropped...". I responded that each pad was wrapped separately and then two pads were taped tight together. I then added an additional wrap around each pair and taped them together. They were placed in a cardboard Priority mail envelope and tape was added around the package for additional support. We determined that USPS had opened the package to inspect it as it was obvious the package didn't come apart like that AND this mystery rod appeared. I also explained to him that the hairline cracks on the pad surface is from normal use as verified on Pagid Racing's website. When the carpet arrived it wasn't Linen or even close to it and did not match the sample pic that he said it did. I asked him to ship the pads back and I would send back the carpet or he could purchase the pads for $90 ($270 new) and I would send the carpet back as it is of no use to me. Then he sent me a rant about greed and that I probably don't even need the money anyway. "This ain't Kindergarten.. No trade backs". "Have a good life". I guess we have different ways of handling things. I can assure that my way would be to try and do whatever is right and fair. |
It's a battery ^^ package broke open because you didn't tape it because you cheaped out on shipping. You wrapped them in printing paper. .. then put them ina usps flat rate envelope..
And you actually offered me 5 bucks for them back. You want your cracked pads? Hmm worthless cracked pads for nos oem porsche carpet. And you have a problem with my product. I gave you the better part of the deal even after the botched shipping. |
|
Notice the nice Crack in the pad. Usps does not inspect packages, except in the state of Missouri..
|
Offered you $5 back for them?
You wrote "Dude by the time we ship it back across America we'll both be out 40$ bucks. And I mounted them this morning :/" I wrote back that you can ship them back for $5 and you responded "okay". The guy who purchased the other set wrote and told me "Got 'em Just as expected and wrapped good enough to be safe for Christmas." |
"Hmm worthless cracked pads for nos oem porsche carpet. And you have a problem with my product."
Hmmm worthless cracked pads yet you mounted them to use them? |
Quote:
If you want them back I'll pull them out of my garbage bin. Because dude these are not even worth shipping back. |
I posted pictures of the packaging. By safe by Christmas you mean;lost at the post office.
|
Wait you said you mounted them but now you say they are in your garbage bin?
It is also interesting that the crack in picture above doesn't show up in the detailed pictures you texted me. It is much easier to be honest and be accountable in life then to play games like this. |
Please ignore us gentleman. We are having a pissing match.
|
I'll have my integrity. You can keep your greed.
I've been up all night tinkering on my 928... I don't need to explain myself to you. You got the better deal and yet you're not happy. You have a tangible product, I nothing. I chalked it up to learning experience. You just thought of how you're going to get more money. You sicken me |
Dude just admit you ****ed up. You don't want the carpet send it back and I'll let you have the honors of letting these brake pads occupy a jersey land fill vs an Arizona one.

I pack everything myself, no errors. Never had a Rennline strut bar. Other pictures of the box were sent. It was obviously opened by someone before its arrival. (edit) Don't eat the cornflakes. someone pee'd in 'em. |
