Power Foil Kiting on the Oregon Coast

My idea of rest and relaxation while on the Oregon Coast.

Kite festivals, and Grand Adventures..............

...........may they never end.

I went up to that festival and also the one in Long Beach Washington back in the mid 90's when I was neck deep in building kites. I met Peter Lynn and some of his creations were so huge they needed a front end loader to carry the bag of nylon out to the flying area. I also remember the first Columbia River sailboard race when a kite boarder showed up and was so fast he went across the river and BACK before the first sailboard made it across! The organizers decided to make a special class for him!

Here is a Boll type of kite I made many years ago. The guy in the picture is 6'2" tall.

Here's two more I made back in 1996. The "alien girl" was used to pull one of those 3 wheeled buggies and I traded it for a very large "EDO" kite by one of Japan's master builders. His wife really liked it....The other would fly some and bounce on and off the ground and was a huge hit with kids.
