Agreed, Nico's drive was unexceptional other than he did pay attention to tire wear. If he would have had to make a second stop or drive fast but light on the booties to make it through a situation where normal drivers would have worn out a set, well, that would have been different.
Started second, made a bad mistake, took advantage of a conservative tire choice by Pirelli, finished second, 15 seconds or so adrift of the winner, in what is the best car on the grid by far. Not exceptional....Hambone's drives after his various misteaks and misfortunes were more impressive. Dennis |
These tracks have no character. Give me Spa, or Monza, tracks like Road Atlanta, Mosport. Tracks that encourage you to stay on the road. Give me hills and trees and not the bull***** multicolor paint stripes "off track". At least put some real curbs so they pay a LITTLE price for running wide.

Yeah, that's how I feel too. Too much running wide, giving back etc. Safer, but it takes away from racing IMO The only new Tilke style track I like is Austin. Races have been good there. |
The key to me is elevation change. A flat track just doesn't really do it for me. One reason Spa and Monaco are so cool is all the up and down. They at least built some of that into Austin as well.
