Anyone think they will launch even the first rocket? Get the first crew of colonists to Mars? See the first crew survive past the first year?

Seems rather on the edge

The first Mars One colonists will suffocate, starve, and be incinerated, according to MIT | ExtremeTech

I am willing to bet they will launch some rockets. Enough people have signed up knowing it is a one way trip but I don't know if any are aware of the odds. Then again, many came to North America knowing the odds weren't good and some made it work. At least they don't have to worry about scurvy and malaria.

If they do go, it will thin out the gene pool for sure.
