the collection, before they start going into storage ....

took me a while to get them all out, cleaned up, parked somewhere decent, and take some pics, but im glad i did:

sadly the spyder is her all season wheels, not the black with polished lip 15x8 6uls, but otherwise a pretty accurate depiction.

the 951 and the spyder will head to storage in the next 2 weeks. sadpanda.jpg

I'll take the one in the middle...

arguably the worst car in the group, but also my one true love as well. that car is a beast, i've done such terrible things to it, and she always runs strong for me.

fastfredracing 10-14-2014 03:18 PM

arguably, that car would rip the lips off the other two. Nice fleet though...

not even close, the mr2 is far and away the fastest car there. the 951, which is far from stock as well, might be able to hold on from 30 onwards, but the mr2 will destroy it everywhere else. corners? forget about it.

that mr2 is faster than every lotus elise in my local autocross club, even when they are running R-comps and im on streets. 2zz swap, full suspension, insane alignment, sadly not pictured but 15x8 6uls ... that mr2 is a monster.

it will eat my 951 for breakfast, no problem. ive driven both in anger many a time, and the mr2 is way more hardcore, in every way.

i love love that turbo though, i still own it for many very good reasons.

fastfredracing 10-14-2014 03:31 PM

Really? Even in all out acceleration ? Is the MR 2 modified? Is there something that I don't know about ? I have driven them before, and I could see them doing well around the cones. But I don't remember them being that fast. They are light. They also suck to try to put up on a lift.

.

2zz swap with PPE intake and exhaust, makes ~195 bhp, 2100lbs, megan coilovers, 1 inch front sway bar, no rear bar, 8 inch wide wheels with 225 wide hankook RS3s, 3.3 degrees negative camber in front, 2.5 in back. actually have to toe the back in a couple of millimeters otherwise its so loose its dangerous.

Nice variety. I've always loved the MR2 Spyder, they seem very under-appreciated as a used sports car.

Perhaps because they are butt ugly?

CP, thanks for posting. Your herd is more complete than mine so I can't even begin to judge. Carry on.

Love the 2 zz swaped mrs and overall good taste in cars. However if your local Elise drivers can't catch you on Hoosiers they are doing it wrong

livi 10-14-2014 08:40 PM

Are your occupation perhaps hairdresser?

Sorry. Could not stop myself. :D

Very nice Collection! I would like them all and I am too impressed by your opinion on the mr2.

Three, open air, one axle drive, low slung sports cars.
In snowy Minnesota.

There's treatment for that, ya know. :D

Three fun cars... and the Miata, from what you said in the other thread, gets to stay out and play all winter, right?

Be sure and update us from time to time on its "winter adventures" when you have time... should provide some fun moments.

I love your rookie photographer mistake and thank you for it... that should remind all of us of hundreds of photos our old man took of us when we were kids. If you don't remember, just look back through some family photos. The more common version is with the elbows out to both sides of the head, forming two triangles.

i knew someone would notice that. yeah, the sun was going down (hard enough to get 3 cars out, parked, cleaned, all after work, before about 6:30 when the sun really gets low in the sky).

hehe

for the record, i used to drive that mr2 on stock suspension on all season tires in the winter. so that was a bit .... lively. never got it stuck, but sometimes keeping the back behind the front was a bit of a pucker moment.

a nicely balanced FR on winter tires, like that miata, should be quite nice.

livi 10-15-2014 07:46 AM

I actually Think that is a very cool Picture. Artsy!

i try not to, but i have been up that way.

yazhound 10-15-2014 08:23 AM

Was not bad place to live. Miles of empty roads for a kid on his dirt bike. And, culturally was way ahead of Tennesssee where we moved afterwards. Including the uh, "big" city of Nashville. It all seemed kinda backwards after leaving the Fargo/Moorhead area. Go figure.

DonDavis 10-15-2014 08:30 AM

Sweet pics, cool rides. Well done, sir.

And at least your arm shadows aren't on the car.

wow, remind me not to ever go to nashvillie

for all the folks reading at home, fargo/morrehead area is pretty much exactly like the movie fargo. that accent, that mentality, very very stereotypical midwestern. we all in other parts of the midwest roll our eyes when people think the whole midwest is that way.

funny. yeah my brothers exwife is from moorehead, and yes, i do think thats part of the reason she is an ex hahaha

trekkor 10-15-2014 09:26 AM

Nice collection.

I want to do a pic with my cars. now. :)

vash 10-15-2014 11:11 AM

stored because of winter?
