Anyone in Montreal 7/18-7/22/2015
I'll be there for one of my shows. Let me know if you're up for drinks or dinner or something.

Why can't you be there on the 25th, when I should be.
![]() Definitely get the best bagels in the world. I've been told this is a great place for smoked meat. ![]()

Schwartzs is very good but a little dry. And expect to stand in line out on the sidewalk since all of the guidebooks list it. The place is tiny & crowded. Across the road is the Main Deli which I prefer. No line up either. For crazy good Indian, go to Bombay Mahal - north of the downtown core on Jean-Talon Ouest. It is a BYOB.
Enjoy Montreal. Ian

Thanks Ian!
Not sure where I'm staying yet, but will look it up if I can. One thing I love about PP is tips when traveling, especially food. |

Other restaurants:
High end: Europea Le Club Chasse et Peche - old Montreal Le Serpent - old Montreal And particularly Bouillon Bilk All of the above would require reservations. All are downtown. All are excellent & I have visited in the last 12 months. Ian

I was born and raised there and when I "go home" a food tour is always on the agenda. I'm not sure if you've ever been there Hugh, but Old Montreal is definitely worth a look. I think I can safely say it is the center of wining/dining/cafe culture. Montreal claims to be the oldest city in North America and many of the buildings date back hundreds of years which is unusual for N.A. Schwartz's was probably my personal favourite as far as smoked meat goes. I have to admit though, nostalgia plays some part in my preference. Have a great trip.
