Wheel ID Mesh 18x8.5 and 18x10

I trying to find the make and model of a set of wheels I have. I need to replace one of them. Any one know who makes them or where to buy them. I need to replace the 18x8.5

To me, they appear to be similar to wheels in the Champion Porsche ads seen in Excellence, Panorama, etc. I would try contacting them to start.

The center cap is a Porsche part.

My first guess was Fikse FM10 but after a second look I'm not sure.

They are similar but not the same.

I was not sure on the center cap, I was hoping it was a porsche wheel.

Yea there are no rivets.

Anyone know of a good company that repairs wheels?

Is it a real split-wheel or are bolts for show only? (I cannot see the joint from inside pic).

Unfortunately, I can't say for sure what the make/model is.

Just curious, what happened? Was this an outright wheel failure, or is the damage due to an accident? The hardware looks like it's for show, so I'm wondering if this is a "knock off" (cheap casting) of a more expensive wheel, and in which case I wonder about safety.

Could it be something from Wheel Dynamics (be sure to scroll through the entire page):

Jarrod---One would assume that you bought the car(996?) with the wheels. Maybe try contacting the former owner, if possible, to get more info.

I did a broad search last night on "R200" and found nothing. It seems like there should be a part number on the wheels somewhere.

Can you look at the wheel again and post a pic if you find it?

The PO jumped a curve and hit a brick mailbox doing 65. I would say the wheel held up rather good compared to the rest of the car.

I'm hoping there will be a sticker on the inside of the wheel when I get the tire off. I did ask the PO he said he bought them off ebay but does not remember the make. The car is a boxster I bought to use as a parts car.

Well I just got word the wheel has been repaired. I went with Rimspec out of Grand Prairie, TX. It should be here some time next week!

Here are the pics.

Wow, that looks brand new! Glad you found a good repair source.

herr_oberst 11-07-2014 05:29 PM

Wow! Magic!

Fast turn, too, less than a month?

jarrodblake 11-07-2014 05:44 PM

Thanks!

I shipped it out last tuesday the 28th. They received them Monday the 3rd and finished them today the 7th. So it only took the 5 days to fix. So I would say it was fast. Though it was my first time to have a wheel repaired. I may send all 4 out and have then extend the lips at some point. Depending on how wide of flares I end up with.

Gogar 11-07-2014 06:07 PM

Wow! Did they just put a new back half on it?

onewhippedpuppy 11-07-2014 07:33 PM

That's incredible considering how bad the damage was. Just FYI, my '99 986 had a set of similar Ebay knock off wheels that gave it a constant vibration at highway speeds. Getting a good used set of OEM wheels made a huge difference. I wouldn't invest a bunch of money in them.
