US drops weapons to ISIS by Mistake?
AOL.com Article - IS fighters seize weapons cache meant for Kurds
Maybe I watched Red Dawn too many times as a kid, but what are the chances this "mistake" was intended and there's tracking devices or remote detonators in the mix? Trying to keep it non-PARF, but how easily is it to do that with today's technology? |
We wouldn't do that. It's probably against the Geneva conventions.
|
Certainly feasible. Booby traps of military gear, ordnance, etc is not prohibited by the Geneva Convention, if it even matters. I imagine embedding location devices would make more sense.
|
More likely the crew screwed up on the drop.
|
When you consider who's in charge, would you think anything else.
|
I heard it was more humanitarian aid than weapons. Some of the weapons shown in the videos were pineapple grenades, which we don't use according to one analyst. So the video was enhanced.
I also read one cashe was blown up before it could be used |
ya really think ISIS is gonna get all Geneva Convention on us if we started going mid-evil?
|
I don't think there are any rules when it comes to folks like ISIS. The normal rules should not apply. Exterminate them like the vermin they are. They are terrorist murderers, not soldiers. They do not deserve to be treated like humans. They crossed that line long ago.

If ISIL got one of the many pallets dropped...it is really no big deal. Probably got some pork free MREs toilet paper and bottled water...possibly a few small arms and ammo. It is not unusual to lose a few when dropping a bunch of these to a small area at night flying pretty fast. These are dropped from C130s, not helos.
Don't fall for the propaganda, ISIS/ISIL is no match for us in any way...we just need to do more than the halfhearted attempts to make it a fair fight between them and the Kurds...and just kill them ourselves. Let the Kurds and Iraqi govt mop up the moles. |
