Picked up a "new" watch
Always had a soft spot for Accutrons (saw Glen's post and didnt wanna hijack it), and I just picked this up.
It's a totally custom "Spaceview" conversion, built off of a 224 Accuquartz movement. The 224 was a hybrid movement that combined quartz technology with the tuning fork technology. Essentially, the tuning fork is passive in this model, and acts as a stepper motor to drive it. Still hums like the 214's with a greater deal of accuracy. This one was built with the chapter ring, etc. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1414035021.jpg |
I don't dig watches much, but I must say, that is the cat's ass

Wow..thats nice!
My daily is a thick chapter ring spaceview 214H.. and I should resuscitate the others.. What can I say.. I have a thing for Accutron hummer watches ;) |

Very cool... Now I need to lean to slip a watch of someone's wrist without them noticing before I see you again...
|
Very cool, M. Does this replace the Heuer for DD duties?
|
i think so. i bought the heuer when i was 17 for my HS graduation present...been on my wrist for a loyal 15 years. it's still working perfectly, but thought id switch it up a bit. i just accepted a new job, and this bulova was a reward for myself, haha. (...couldn't pull the trigger on the Rolex Milgauss...as much as I wanted to!)
