Would you prime this before top coat?
A set of ABS paintable bushwhacker fender flares for my 2500 hd. I scuffed the life out of them, but not sure if I should put down a quick coat of primer surfacer, or just go straight to color. They are really nice and smooth right now, and the paint will lay down great on them, I am just worried about adhesion.
I'm using base/clear. They are a real pia to scuff around all the bolt holes. I'll do it if I have to , but would rather not. Any advice appreciated, thanks... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1414195615.jpg |
I'm far from an expert, but I expect there's a primer that is made specifically to adhere to plastic parts and probably has flex additive already in it.

Of course you'd prime it. I wouldn't worry about any flex agents. Just use a good self etch primer.

Scuffing/degrease before priming will increase mechanical bonding.
