Random Q - Re: Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!
So just curious…does anybody know what color the 356 was in that movie? Quick search and all I can find are B&W photos…

If I recall correctly, it was British Racing Green, or the Porsche equivalent.

For what it's worth, I love all Meyer's movies!

Excuse me, which car?
|
Russ Meyer used his personal car in Faster Pussycat KILL!! KILL!!, and the one used in "Behind the Green Door" belonged to an A. Benton, one of the producers/whatever for the movie.

Red in a B&W world… http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1414596731.jpg |
So I found an article that has this from Tura Satana, who played Varla:
"The Porsche 356 in the film belonged to Russ Meyer. It was grey inside and out with a white stripe. It had been years since I'd driven a stick-shift, so I asked him to let me practise a little first. He said `OK, I'll give you two hours.' I was used to driving vehicles but they were automatics. I learned on a stick shift and once you've learned you never really forget it, but it takes a while to get it back. So after two hours in the desert I got used to the stick shift again, and the clutch." Link to article: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/2721571/The-Porsche-and-the-pussycats.html And on the German Wiki site for FPKK is has this picture attributed to the car (not sure if it's saying this is it, or this is like it…can't read German). http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1414597783.jpg With enough contrast, this could be made to look black…. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1414597919.jpg |

Just as we don't see in color in the absence of light a photo shot on monochromatic film will not contain the info needed to tell what color something was. A true red will appear black in the absence of light. Point was, we simply can't tell what color that car was based on the image. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1414603161.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1414603186.jpg |
