Those are some seriously FUGLY bikes.

Funny how the SC blow-off for the street version is so pronounced...for that extra d-bag effect when they're rollin' through TacoBell with full face helmets sitting atop their heads.

You know the type

Definitely for the poseurs. Leno raving about the bucket seat.... jeez, maybe he'd like a seat belt.

However, I've always been intrigued by forced induction on small motors. My guess is just about every H2 street owner will have them bumped up. Nice platform to work with.

I use State Farm to insure my vehicles. Every time I call them to get a new bike insured the first question they ask is "Is it turbocharged?" I'm afraid to find out what would happen if I responded in the affirmative.

Good point on the subject of insurance. Even back in 1982 it was an issue with turbo or sc 'aftermarket'.

I installed a turbo on a Honda CBX and was only able to keep coverage, less the replacement cost of the turbo / related per notice by the agent. Bikes with OEM turbo's were fine (Honda CX-500 and Kawasaki 750 turbo).

You and I know the difference but I doubt they do. Or care.

^^ That RC213V-S at first glance reminds me of the gear driven cam VFR1000 back in 1985. I'm sure this latest release will be a monster- and that massive swingarm!. But back in 1985, the long anticipated VFR1000 ended up being a slug in all areas.

Back on topic, I do agree with Leno about a resurgence or 'golden age' of superbike wars. Price relative, its staggering the amount of technology and performance available today. However, what does one do once its worn out? Obsolete parts and not much for the DIY.

I have one of those in the collection. I can barely move the thing around the garage. Feels like it has flat tires. But, once it gets going, its a nice bike
