Please eat somewhere else.
This morning my wife opened the garage door to leave and found what was left of one of the rabbits that live in my yard.
Not what I wanted to deal with after just getting out of bed and no coffee. https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.n...19971250_o.jpg https://scontent-b-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/...e1&oe=54EEB884 |
That will not buff out.
|
He left the rabbit's foot, that should be good luck ! Hang one from her mirror as a surprise.
|
Lucky? Not for the rabbit.
|
At least you didn't find it boiling in a pot on the stove.
|
Impressive, what do you think did that?

You have a cat problem......there's a dog for that

It must have been good.

Seems like a very careful dissection, I thought cat. A cat started showing up in my yard, not quite the same as yours though. |
Dang that is one mean looking pooch.
Cat is gorgeous! |
Between that cat and that dog, I'd bet on the feline.
They ate the entrails - not much to complain about... |
Is that inside your garage or just outside?
Hope you were not too attached to the bunny. |
Just outside the garage door.
Was not a pet but I still like having them around even though they poop all over the yard. I enjoy watching nature. Lots of interesting creatures around here. Tons of raptors which are great fun to watch hunt. A red tail dropped a live baby dove in front of my daughter over the summer. We snatched it up and nursed it till it was able to fly off on its own. We do have a couple of mountain lions that people have snapped pics of. Still waiting to see one myself. Thankfully they stick to the woods and don't come inside the hood. Least not that we know of. |

They did not get all the entrails. The dark lump a couple feet away from the carcass in the second pic is the pelt and had some giblets still attached. Whatever did it did a pretty good job of skinning the rabbit. Peeled it like a one piece suit. |
All the pictures - impressive. I would have expected to see more blood at the scene though. Perhaps the kitty licked that up too?
Disagree on the kitty vs pooch - IMO that pooch would make quick work of that kitty - if he could catch him. |
Rabbit soup...

Maybe it was Santeria?

It left you a present... I think it just wants to come inside and cuddle.

Chupacabra ?? I can rule out a fox. When I lived on the edge of a canyon, foxes would bring their rabbits into my front yard outside my bedroom window to eat. They ate everything except for the entrails which they left in a pile. I kept hearing crunching noises outside my window & couldn't figure out what was going on until I spotted a fox eating one night.

Kill the wabbit, kill the wabbit, kill the wabbit... KILL THE WABBIT!?!
|
We have red tails and smaller hawks I call "chicken hawks".
I was driving home one day and I see what I think are two pigeons flying in front of me a little down the street... suddenly the "pigeon" behind and above dives and BAM! Feathers fly and they both drop to the ground... it was a hawk and about the same size as the pigeon he just dispatched... I stopped in the middle of the road and turned on my emergency blinkers on so the hawk wouldn't get run over. Much to my surprise in a minute after the pigeon expired he up and flew away with his huge kill. |
That cat is beautiful - serval? The ears don't look big enough... Bobcat? Spots are usually bigger.
That dog looks like canine roid rage waiting to happen! |
Eh, rabbits are Nature's kibble. It fed a much cooler animal, I'd wager.
|
To be fair, the dog would probably bring the same kind of presents home......but that dog would devastate an average bobcat.

That one was from last springs litter. IIRC less than a year old when that pic was taken. One of the reasons to be selective with the plantings in the yards around here. Too dense and you end up with a litter. |
There is no way that pit bull has anything for that wiley fast-cat, that cat would disembowel that dog so quick he wouldn't even whimper....about like a sumo wrestler against a Ninja.
|
No Pit Bull, Cane Corso's are actually Mastiffs....while they have a bulky Pit build, they're a good bit taller, bulkier and significantly faster.
They're descendants of the dogs Romans used in warfare and in hunting bears. There's a guy in Georgia that uses them to cull wild hogs. One good sized Corso can bring down a hog twice its weight without a problem. |

Cane Corso, also known as an Italian Mastiff. It's a true Molosser. Mastiff's are massive animals that are also deceptively quick and agile, explosive is a good description. Having owned several Mastiffs I would not give a Bobcat much chance in a streetfight. |
Rabbit is tasty.
|
I have a couple of Russian neighbors that do that. I can tell it's them from the empty vodka bottle left nearby.
|
We have a big old Maine Coon weighing nearly 18 pounds and he eats all sorts of critters, mostly palm rats, Possums, mice and even lizards now and then. We don't have a rabbit issue but he might be why but when he eats, the head makes a really loud crunch when he chews it up! There have been a few times when he has brought them in the house not not many!
|
Coyote. I've seen them leave exactly that result.
