Caterham (Lotus) Super Seven for sale
Hi folks,
After much thought, I've decided to move on to another motoring adventure (Turbo Miata). Here is an opportunity for someone else to enjoy the seven experience. In my last 4 years of ownership, I have worked hard to create the best balance of tourer and back road carver. She is as comfortable as a seven can be in terms of reduced wind buffeting, vibration and heat mitigation. I have covered the transmission tunnel and under the dash, under the seats and behind the seats in sound and vibration insulation. It dramatically reduced the heat soak and the harmonic vibrations. $23,000 USD or $25,500 CDN or Best reasonable offer Caterham Seven Supersprint Factory 1700 Crossflow Kent Dual Weber DCOE 40 Dry sump oil system with oil cooler 4 speed Ital axle - live axle 36,233 miles Aluminium with Green clamshell wings Quiet Rover side exhaust fitted - original side exhaust comes with the car Distributor replaced with a custom curved Aldon unit from the UK Motormounts replaced with solid units Tyres are from the UK 185/60/13 Yokohama A539 - 2 years old Interior: S-type seats on sliders Full carpet kit Mirrors for Seven mirror Tach with programmable shift light on dash. I have is set for around 6,000rpm to ensure longevity (to be honest, I rarely hit that because its bloody fast enough at 5,000rpm) 12V GPS socket wired in Scroth Harnesses Full heater Full weather kit Half doors Wind deflectors Behind the seats mesh wind blocker Full tonneau cover Hood bag Car runs great. The 6,000 miles I have put on her in the last 4 years have included 3 trips to the Watkins Glen Historic festival which is a 1,000 km round trip weekend. She has never left me stranded. This car makes you an instant celebrity. For folks in the Greater Toronto area where I live, please note when I purchased the car 4 years ago from a local Lotus dealer they were able to get it to pass the emissions testing process by detuning the carbs significantly. I'm not a mechanic and so I've not been able to replicate that. I have paper work from the Caterham factory that may enable someone with more time than me to work with the MTO office and register their purchase as a "kit car" thereby rendering the car etest exempt. Alternatively, you could try mounting a cat. This is only an issue in my local area due to Ontario govt restrictions on cars registered as 88' or newer. Car has been all around the world. It started in the UK, and came to Canada via Japan In car video from my car (http://youtu.be/t5UQEmgXnT8?list=UUJ7mikvqZe1FncYcfkS4ysQ) Pics here https://www.flickr.com/photos/129275489@N03/

All your links are dead when I click on them. Post some pics! (from a tire kicker, not a serious buyer) but would love to check it out.

My results from trying to look at the videos are: Youtube doesn't exist, the theglobeandmail is forbidden, and the flickr site loads one photo & keeps browsing. Maybe it's something with my computer.

I'd really like the CSR version from Caterham...IRS, dry sump, 260 HP... unapologetically impractical and looney tunes.

I've wanted a 7 for many years. I'm trying to wrap my head around going from a hot 7 to a turbo miata (and I'm a miata guy, or was), but living that far north, it might be nice to have a bit more roof.

I love the idea of a SEVEN, but it falls into the same category as my favorite fantasy car.....a Shelby Cobra replica from Factory Five Racing. It would be wonderful for a trip to a car show on a sunny afternoon, or autocross events and track days, but completely useless the other 350 days a year in Northern Ohio where there are flat, straight roads full of Buicks, and pickup trucks. I wouldn't consider commuting to work and parking in a lot, or going to the store and leaving it to the door swinger gawkers outside.

I have similar leanings towards the Syper 7s and am looking to purchase one. At the moment, I have another one in mind. Gotta see how it shakes out in a couple days.

Very nice! I wish I had the cash laying around. Can I come & test-drive it for about a year?

The good thing about the Caterham is it is not a clone. Caterham bought the tooling, chassis and full rights from Lotus in 1973....so they can rightfully be called a Lotus seven (in my mind at least)
