Need a super cheap cell phone that will work on T-mobile

Samsung Galaxy S2 went through the laundry... did the uncooked rice thing for a couple days... put it back together... worked for a day then died again... I can/have pulled the battery, reinstalled battery, fiddled with charger... it will work for a little while then die... 99% sure it is D-E-D dead.

With the holidays just around the corner all our money is tied up for a month or two.
Wife just sent me a Craigslist ad for a $30 Alcatel phone (they have terrible reviews).
Quick look at CL and I counter with a $30 Samsung flip phone (shudder).
Here is the deal, after four days without a phone... I DON'T MISS IT!
Here at work I have a phone and a computer 8 hours a day 5 days a week... when I'm at home 70% of the time I am with my wife... who is inseparable from her phone.

So what would PPOT do? Live with a crappy $30 phone or do without?

I have used the Nokia 3110 for years now with T-Mobile. Very reliable:

ha... how ironic. Same here and was just ready to go cheapo from Target. The nominal extra cost dummy warranty 3 years covers product incl. accidental damage (policy is only based on the final selling cost of phone).
We have rebates, coupons whatever accumulated from Target to use up. Considering something like this and budget $150 (after rebates) / un-locked and no more contract:

Or this cheapo:

Transfer your number to google voice, so you don't loose it. Then see if you can go without for a while, when you are ready for one again you'll have your current number still.

Oh the irony... the Nokia was my old phone the Galaxy replaced... I think the Nokia lasted about 4-5 years, a real workhorse, those were the days!

Think I am going to a Samsung flip:

The smart phone was a fun gadget but I hardly ever used all the functions... (he said dreading the day I ever get lost and need GPS) :D

Any AT&T phone will work on T-Mobile once you unlock it. Surf craigs list for a used unit and rock on

My newer Samsung flip-phone sucks.
It remembers only 10 calls.
It randomly misses calls.
It randomly switches ring modes.
The year is 2014.

The old Nokia functioned reasonably.
