Diecast 1:43 Minichamps vs 1:18 Kyosho

OK, I'm looking at getting one of two models.

One is a Kyosho 1:18. It looks like it's got amazing detail and accuracy and finish.

The other is a 1:43 Minichamps in a box with 2 cars that is pretty cool. The cars are clearly less than half the size of the 1:18, so they'll have much less detail, and since everything will be much smaller, little quality issues will be less obvious. But, in close-up pictures, it looks like it's good, but not great. But, you can get really close with a digital photo blown up on a 23" monitor, and I'm not sure that I'd really see any issues.

I think most diecast folks like minichamps.

What are your thoughts.

Kyosho

Minichamps

Yeah, the detail on the Kyosho, and the quality looks pretty good in the pics. Maybe not Exoto good, but very nice.

I guess then I'd get one of those boxes that you can put 1:18 models in so the missus wouldn't have to dust it.

I like 1:43 because they take up so much less space on my messy desk.

I like Minichamps and I think the 1:43rd scale is more interesting- that much detail at that small scale just seems more impressive to me.

Both are on the upper level of detail. Not AutoArt or Exoto, but for the price they are very nice.
I have a few......

R K T...

That is impressive.
Kyosho has a "museum quality line.
Very nice. 1:43. Don't know if they offer it in 1:18.
IXO and Kyosho are probably about as good as it gets for 1:43.

I used to own an AC Cobra. Replica of course.
During that period of twenty years, I collected Exoto 1:18
GT40's and a couple Cobra's that had some racing livery.

Wish I had collected some 934/935's, now that I drive a 911.

I started buying the 43rd Minichamps Porsches recently because they are very nice and accurate but also because they take up less space! Yeah, a little spendy but they really are nicely done.

Also got one of these Minichamps Turbo S's in 1/18th and it too is very nice.

I also like 1:43, started collecting 2 yrs ago to build up a collection of cars I've worked on

I'm little over halfway there and too far in to back out now.

Will also have to get a few custom ones made to complete the collection but it should be worth the expense once they are all displayed together
