Here's my rig - bought an RV.
Finally bit the bullet and bought an Airstream travel trailer! Man, I love this thing. Can't wait to take it out on its maiden voyage which will be at a local RV park that has full hook ups so that we can learn the systems in the rig.
Here are some pics of my new-to-me 28' 2011 Airstream Flying Cloud. I also bought a 2006 Nissan Titan 4WD gas V8 for my tow vehicle. I shopped for weeks and got killer deals on both. It pays to be patient! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1416295140.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1416295184.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1416295237.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1416295284.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1416295340.jpg |
Awesome! Thats one hell of a way to get into RVing! Have fun!
|
Now, that thing is COOL. Get some pics of the inside will ya.
|
I absolutely love it!

Nice silver bullet! Congrats!

Really nice looking rig you put together there Can't drive55 !
I just did a 2 week with my brother in his rig, from New Orleans to New Mexico. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1416309876.jpg This makes for some very comfortable wanderings across country. A bit of a learning curve with the systems at first, but so fun ! All the best in your new adventures, airforums is the go to place for answers to your coming questions. Cheers Richard |
It looks like there may have been a quick detour to Australia in that pic?
What's the inside look like? |
Now that is living large. Great package.

New chapter... now you know when your next "happiest day" in your life will be...

Met a gal at a party the other night who travels all over the western US in her airstream. Good looking gal and goes solo to these events.
She likes them because they get great locations for dirt cheap. Side note-is it me or the picture angle but it sure looks tight between the back of the nissan and the front of the airstream. |
In that pic was another Airstream parked side-by-side to mine but a little forward. There's adequate space between the rig and my truck for the tongue, propane tanks, electric jack, weight distribution bars and anti-sway bar.

Apparently, the 16' and 19' "Bambi" Airstream models are popular with single women and gay couples. Probably because they can be towed easily enough with BMW X5s, Touaregs and Cayennes.

Trying to help with the confusion your picture is showing.
What does your trailer weigh? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1416326558.jpg Very nice rig you've got there. |
Nice.
How about some interior pics of the Airstream? |
I'm a huge Airstream fan. For our anniversary this year we went and stayed in one at an RV park up in Solvang. That convinced us not to buy one as we just don't have the infrastructure at this point (no tow vehicle, no place to store it, not realistically going to take weekends off as I typically have gigs), but I still love them.
fwiw 25-28' is about the perfect size. With the 28' you usually have a queen size bed and a better living space. Below 25' and it is still cool but tight. Congrats, though I'm a sucker for the International interiors. |
I know what you mean about the interior of the International model. I fell in love with the Onyx color interior but the trailer was sadly out of my reach. It was a beauty though with the cream ultra leather, three awnings, more windows and a second skylight.
I'll take interior photos of mine when I gave a chance soon. The pic below is of a 30' model. The color scheme and ultra leather is like mine but the configuration is slightly different. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1416328535.jpg |
My parents have a 2005 30" Airstream pulled by a 2012 Chevy 2500 4x4. They love it, belong to the club, and partipate in the rallies about 6-7 a year. They generally travel about 10,000 miles a year while towing, and spend about 100 nights a year in it. Owning an Airstream and getting involved with the club is truly belong to a subculture.
