Shipping car from Houston to Park City
I am looking into shipping a 2004 Mini Cooper from Houston to Park City, UT. For this move I don't see a reason to use an enclosed trailer. I have a bid from Reliable for over $1,600 in an enclosed transport! The reviews of the brokers I have quickly Googled seem so mixed it makes it impossible to determine if you will have great experience or a terrible one. Anyone have a good experience with an open trailer shipper?

What is wrong with driving the car? Did a similar trip once in 1971 to pick up a '68 911 from Houston that I imported from Germany and was diverted to there because of a dock worker strike in Los Angeles. Great road trip to Los Angeles. Saw a lot of memorable places like Taos:

Other than your time, it would be cheaper to drive it.

Give J & S Transport a call. I used them to bring a car from Idaho to CA and was very pleased with their service. They are haulers, not brokers, and use their own trucks whenever possible. They picked up promptly and delivered exactly when promised. I'd use them again without question.

My neighbor just bought a Boxster in Ft. Collin, CO and had it shipped "open" to Seattle area for $950. Door to door...He used a broker, I can get more if you wish.......

Thanks for ideas. I will follow up with the names given. I do the round trip drive twice a year with my other car, this one needs to be transported. There are some great sites in West
Texas, New Mexico and Southern Utah! Also several ways to go which makes it more interesting.
