motor meister (again)

From rennlist forums, looks like he's back in business...

No one expected him to go away. Just change names and start the scam all over. Until his is in jail or physically unable to rip gullible people off he will be in business. And no you can't totally rebuild a 911 engine for $3,000 and do it properly.

NY65912 11-20-2014 06:10 AM

What I don't get is why people do not do their due diligence when it comes to a large repair such as an engine rebuild. Between internet searching, forums, friends and local community there is no reason not to vet out service providers.

Yeah a decade or so ago when I was shopping for a P Car I nearly pulled the trigger on a twin plugged car that needed finishing.

Started shopping motor rebuilds and came across MM and thought, awesome price, gotta be something wrong there, pass.

T77911S 11-20-2014 10:15 AM

i ran into a guy here several years ago that SHIPPED his car from the east coast to have it rebuilt.
i know it had some oil leaks when he got it back and was trying to sell it.
i dont think he new about this site and obviously did not research the company before sending it there.
bad thing is he could have had a GREAT motor just 2hrs south.

I have to thank MM! Without them, I wouldn't have found the pelican forum.

I found this place when I googled MM. Haha. That Roy dude almost had me when I got my 1975 car.

There are lots of people who have some serious ($$) issues with this guy...I'm surprised he's still vertical

Porsche: The vehicle of the smart and wealthiest elite with access to the best lawyers.
--vs.--
Motor Meister: Engine re-builder still operating with decades of bad reputation.

It's like the same guy going into mob-owned museums and poking holes in Rembrandts.

Tobra 11-20-2014 12:44 PM

How is that guy on the same side of the grass as me still?

Bump for those that don't know

onlycafe 11-22-2014 04:49 PM

ask angela lane (laneco) about them.

FWIW, if you can change the title of the thread (or if someone posts a similar thread in the future), it might be worthwhile to put Stuttgart Auto Werks into the title. Because not many of the uninformed are going to be searching/googling Motor Meister from here on out.

Always my question. Lured by the siren song of a cheap price I guess.

I am betting that he never messes with anybody in his own zip code.

I'll take your word for it Angela. the things is though how can he still be in business after all these years?
Surely the Air cooled Porsche world in the US is fairly small.

Joeaksa 05-11-2017 05:37 PM

Well I helped a friend who had a "Motormeister" engine in his car then left an accurate post on Yelp about Jerry. This was several years ago.

Guess Jerry finally saw the report and this is the result. I did not expect much else from a San Fran based concern!

Hi Joe,

We wanted to let you know that we've removed your review of German Auto. Your review was brought to our attention by the Yelp community, and we found that it fell outside our Content Guidelines because it appeared to be primarily based on someone else's customer experience.

We want to hear about your personal consumer experiences with local businesses. The best reviews provide context, detail and perhaps even a helpful tip or two. To learn more, check out our Content Guidelines at http://www.yelp.com/guidelines.

Thanks for understanding, and we'll see you on Yelp!

Removed Content:

Am working with a friend who asked me to assist him in figuring out some issues that he had with the engine in a 911 Porsche he just bought. Leaks oil from everywhere, parts do not match and it runs like crap. We then looked in the paperwork and found that it had been overhauled by Jerry while he owned Motormeister.

What a POS! This motor was supposed to have been totally overhauled less than 14,000 miles ago and when we took it apart it appeared that it was more like 100,000 miles. Mix and match parts and the previous owner paid LOTS of $$ for this. Please BEWARE of Jerry, no matter which name he calls his shop! Please do an internet search for "motormeister" and you will see the truth!
