More of winter car and: For my wife to use for the 250 mile round trip to see the grandkids 2 or 3 times a month.....Keeps the miles off her good car:
99 Camry V6 - Has 218,000 miles and just today got a new timing belt.....We live in the Mountains and with 4 studs, never had a problem in the snow/ice. To tow my snowmobiles, I use a Mazda 4.0 4x4 extended cab PU (same as a Ford Ranger)...

I switch off, depends on my mood, the weather, how long it's been since they were all driven, etc. Sometimes it's a 2003 Tundra, sometimes a 2011 Silverado, sometimes, Z-3.

'08 Scoobie Outback on winter tires and rear LSD...I've not yet been able to get it stuck in snow and it has been completely reliable. Find a manual trans XT for bonus points!

Just moved last month from an '09 ScoobyDo Outback to a '14 MB C300 4matic. The Scooby was dead reliable and unstoppable in snow. Just got bored with it after 15 years.

Beater Blazer. Goes everywhere, drinks gas, and is so cheap to fix I haven't been able to finally give up on it yet (radiator started leaking this summer, did a wp, thermostat, hoses, etc. while I was in there and still spent less than $200).

It was a 91 BMW 318is that got 30 mph. Now it's a 2014 Ford F150 that gets 17 mpg combined.

2004 BMW 325i with 180,000 miles on it. The thing has been faultless, have never even seen a check engine light (or any others...). I've been thinking of replacing it for a couple of years now and I can't find anything I really like. It's German so it requires a little more attention than a Honda but it's easy to work on.

Can't help you with the snow part - don't know the meaning of that strange word. I just got out of a BMW X1 that was AWD and would be a great DD in places that actually have weather. I switched to this though which I'm loving so far

You do not need a 4x4 for winter. You do need four snow tires.
My diesel Jetta (2001) and my V70 Volvo (1999) are fine in winter.
