Is an ip intercom possible?
OK, I have cameras set up in my place of business and would like to be able to speak via the internet to people in the shop while watching the cameras from home. Is there a way (hardware/software) to easily and cheaply do this> I know there will need to be a speaker and microphone present.
I have searched the web but I am unsure if there is something easier out there. This is part of my semi-retirement plan. TIA |
My D-Link 5222L cameras are built with two-way audio supported.
Just add speakers/mike with the included wire and you have live audio/video. |
Ahh, I guess I should have said that I am not using IP cameras. I am using a DVR (960H) with remote viewing.

Dropcam also has hi-def cloud recording along with 2 way audio. Simple to set-up...works good.

^Just started researching Dropcams...
They can't be beat for the one-time cost and the nominal annual cost to back up footage. At minimum, the garage is getting one :) |
Aiphone makes an ip intercom, uses a network adapter to interface the station and a pc for the master. i believe the software is free on their site.

Valcom and Bogen also have systems.

Thanks, looking into the leads.
