Amazing How Forgiving People Are...
I guess its the Christian spirit shining through, Marion Barry dies, held as civic hero, Bill Cosby is a rapist (and yes, you know he is) and his shows still sell out and I am sure there is a whole bunch of others thats fall into this category.
So who have you heard of thats basically a criminal (convicted or should be) and yet a large group loves them? Name some...

Staying away from the political arena: (note, the OP's criteria includes, "basically a criminal." I take that to mean they have had a criminal conviction, not that their character is basically one of a criminal.)
