Officer Jack V. Evans. 31 years later .........
and I still wonder if there was anything I could have done to change the outcome. I was a witness to the accident that took this gentleman's life. I was kneeling on the ground next to him as he drew his last breath. I drive past the intersection the accident took place at every day going and coming home from work. I happened to walk past the intersection today and noticed a sign in memorial to him. I had never seen the sign before. Seeing it today made me wonder all over again if there was anything I could have done that may have made a difference.

It is the correct human response to want to do more to help a fellow human when they are hurt. I am sure you did everything you could. Just to not be alone in your last moment is huge.
