2 Phone Guy

I've been seeing a lot of this lately. Guys who are carrying 2 mobiles. Seems like every meeting I go to there are a couple of obviously important people with 2 phones.

One for business and one personal? I even saw a three phone guy the other day. That makes no sense. One for business, one for the wife and one for the GF?

I have my android phone and the iPhone work gave me. I don't carry the work phone after hours or weekends. So what?

For some, it's a necessity. My wife is two phone gal. She carries her personal Saudi phone while she's here in Kingdom and her Houston phone for her business. its the world we live in. Constant communication is available.

My wife is a doctor who takes call. She looks like Batman with all the pagers and phones she has.

Usually that is a work phone and a personal phone.

We are on call 24/7, so we have a duty phone. I used to occasionally carry both, but now I just forward that one to my personal phone.

Two phone guy, have had one number for 15 years, work number has changed over the years.

Used to carry 4 phones a few years ago... why can't I buy a multi-sim iPone?? Grrrrr...... how hard can it be to have multiple numbers on one phone? Sheesh.

stealthn 11-30-2014 06:39 PM

Because companies can get their BYOD grip together even though they have the tools such as MobileIron...:rolleyes:

mikesride 11-30-2014 06:41 PM

The G/F has thee phones......personal phone, work only phone and a union business phone.... PITA.

I had two when I worked in aerospace, work and personal. I could have consolidated to receive my work email and calls on my personal phone, but liked the ability to leave my work phone at home when desired.

Motion - taking it to the next level! 4 phones!?!

Did you put them in some sort of bag or holster a couple and one in each hand?

One business and one personal is becoming the norm. How long before Apple gets a dual sim iPhone. Samsung has a few dual sim phones already.

Used to. Had a work phone and then a personal one. Don't like to mix business and personal life.

BlueSkyJaunte 11-30-2014 09:18 PM

Work and personal. Work offered to let me BYOD my personal - and I thought about it until I saw the spyware crap they install. No effing way am I letting our filthy IT department even get near my phone.

So, I carry a Galaxy S4 that they gave me at work (phone, pages, and for fast answers to email) and a OnePlus One for myself. I treat the Galaxy like ****. :)

Don't know, but doesn't google phone take care of this?

one phone only for work and personal. Had the same mobile # for 25 years.

id10t 12-01-2014 03:36 AM

If I had to have a cell phone for work, or if work mandated that I check emails from my phone, I'd make them get me a 2nd phone and be a 2 phone guy. My phone is my property, my bill, and for my use and convenience. Work doesn't even have my cell number - a few coworkers do because they are friends, but there is nothing in my HR record, etc. that lists my cell. A few 2 phone guys at work though have solved it by using Google Voice and forwarding between numbers, texts, etc.

I've wondered that too. I used to have two phones, but the plan we have at work now is for unlimited everything, so I have only the biz phone and sort work from personal with different ring tones.

I carry a work phone and a personal phone - I like to keep my work calls and my personal calls separated - Also the company reserves the right to wipe the device if I bring my own device.

I can see that being a problem for a lot of people. I own the company - my boss is still a slave driver prick who sleeps with my girlfriend. Who knows what he would do with my phone. :)
