I will ask Dad if he has a copy of Uncle Jack's memoirs. I am quite certain you all would enjoy them. He was a radioman, happened to be peeling potatoes on the deck when it happened. He was on some tender, directly across from battleship row. Saw just what it was the first time he saw that meatball go by. The guns were locked up when they were in port, so he threw potatoes at them. I asked him what a potato is going to do to an airplane. He said it would not do you any good to hit a potato going 300 miles an hour.

One of you guys posted a link to some pictures one time. First one was of some sailors pulling guys from the water around the Nevada. I could pick out my uncle out easily. I know he was there, because he told me about it 20 years before I saw the picture.
