explain these "memes" to me
#1 family posts a lot of stupid photos and old crap on FB that says "share if you agree". Usually from a radio station or something. How does that work? What are they collecting?
#2 Kermit the Frog drinking tea or otherwise "pointing something out" Its sort of patterned after the Willy Wonka meme. I get WW, he was kinda a dick....but I don't get Kermit. Anyone? |
#1 - Clear Channel owns the majority of radio stations. They have tons of listeners and now facebook profiles where listeners "follow" their posts. This helps them gather useful demographic data on how to better market and advertise. This is like gold in the marketing world. FB charges to "promote" posts, but if they are 'viral' enough the community will share and re-share. More effective campaigns use shill profiles to further promote and cross-share the content. This ties back into their analytics and reporting in FB and other suites of tools to shows campaign effectiveness, conversions (whatever the KPI may be), shares, likes, comments, and overall market penetration. Make sense? This is why i block every radio station post shared and re-shared.
#2 - No idea on Kermit, but for Willy Wonka... check out https://reddit.com/r/adviceanimals for memes or Create A Meme on Memegen for meme info. |

On the Kermit ones, the last Muppets movie didn't do so well. He also didn't pay taxes for years, blamed it on his accountant, IRS didn't buy it and came down hard on him. He also lost a ton of money in Vegas and on pork bellies, so his memes are just to keep living indoors, though ponds are plentiful in Beverly Hills, and free. He did it all to himself but you still have to feel for the guy. It was sad when Fozzie turned his back on Kermit.
So when you see a Kermit meme, click on it, hopefully he'll get his life back together again with your help. |

#2-Sipping tea relates to an early Obamacare advertisement. Young man in pajamas. "It's as easy as..." |
