Blind repair - what type of string is this?
I've tried several different types of string, and haven't been able to find the correct replacement that holds up and doesn't tangle. One of our cats decided to start chewing on them a few years ago (has since stopped). Taking the blinds apart and restringing isn't a big deal, but none of my fixes have lasted for any length of time before strings start to tangle and/or break.
It's stranded, thin, strong, I haven't found anything available commercially that matches. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1417971621.jpg Anybody successfully repaired these types of blinds? |
No clue, but blinds have to be one of the most cheesy designed products ever. About half of the wood blinds in our house wont adjust anymore. I looked at them, and the internals are the same as the little cheap vinyl blinds. Well of course trying to push the big 2" wide aluminum slats around has just gutted the internals. :( Not going to be cheap to replace them all either.

I've purchased parts for blinds here: Blinds USA Inc: Window Blind Replacement Parts Components and Mounting Hardware
Look under cord, they have what you want. |
It's .9mm nylon. I think if you can't find a window coverings store or something you might be able to find it at michaels or something. Or what your dad911 said.

If it's a Hunter Souglas blind they will restring it for free. You pay the shipping.
