Filming at my house again

TLC wants to rent my house, again. I've done it twice with them before. In the past, they've been really good about layout board on the floors and cardboard on the wall corners to protect them from scuffs.

Next Tuesday 8PM to 2AM, Wednesday 1PM to 2AM, and Thursday 1PM to 2AM.

$7,500.

Night time film work sucks. They say they only want to move a couch or two and no climbing on the roof. I need a few days anyway to pack for my move and I have plenty of vacation days. I figure I'll pull out the big a$$ RV and park it on the driveway and set up the direct TV and be here if they need me for something. The one selling point, besides the house, is a 330 foot driveway to park their semi's.

How does this work?

Did you list your house with some agent who finds houses for filming or does TLC just come knocking because they like your house? Or do you know someone who knows someone?

A long time ago, they approached Gary Wright, wanted to use his houseboat for a Raquel Welch movie. He said sure, as long as they'd do a photo of he & Raquel in bed. They found another houseboat...

May Gary RIP...you can find his name as a driver at Sebring...'67 I believe. Also drove Daytona in a 914-6 GT...forget the year.

Great stuff Hugh... Your old house down the lane is on the market if you fancy a European hideaway...

I had a very large movie with a big name guy filmed at my house.

$30k in my pocket, very little trouble.

My neighbor has 40 acres that he rents out for filming. NCIS shoots there a lot. TLC will be shooting there and they need a house nearby.

My real estate buddy told me about a home for sale near yours the other day. I think it is on the market for $690k or thereabouts.

SCV real estate is hot! My friend at work was going to an "open house' on Saturday and it was canceled, house already sold. If you don't have full cash price or are not prequalified, don't even bother putting in an offer.

Tax free too right, if you rent it out less than 14 days, or does California get its share regardless. NICE!

What? Won't he have to master the accent and change his entire wardrobe?

Actually, I've heard that travel by horse and buggy isn't all that bad. Even romantic at times.
