Teamviewer is fantastic.
Just install it on her computer and show her how to open it and ready you the numbers.

Once that's done you just hit 'connect with partner' and you're in.

Thanks. I will check out Teamviewer.

We have a pretty neat VNC on some of the computers here at the office. I can log onto my work computer and run it remotely. It was a real pain to set up and make it secure. Teamviewer may will be perfect for the application.

You don't even need her to log on, once you "partner" her computer with yours, its a single click from your machine.

berettafan 12-10-2014 06:35 AM

right she will just need to leave team viewer open and minimized.

There is an option to run Teamviewer on startup.

My wife is the same way,

"can you help me? this is not working"

What's not working?

"this!"

What's this?

"just come here"

OK

"I'm trying to do ......"

That's not the way to do that, try this .....

"I don't want to do it that way, I want to do it this way"

But that won't work, you have to do it like this .......

"why"

Cause that's how it's done

"well I don't like that"

Well do you want it done?

"yes"

Then do it this way ....

"that's stupid"

No stupider than doing it the wrong way 100 times in a row and expecting it to magically work the 101st time.

"**** off"

Yes dear

Exactly the transcript of my conversations with the wifes parents.

For remote control/show I use TeamViewer. As easy as it can get!

The parts have arrived. Some assembly required. ;)

GH85Carrera 12-11-2014 11:11 AM

It is all put together and finishing up the first round of Windows updates. 186 Updates! At least they are free. ;)

Not so sure about the free part. Maybe no monetary cost, but it is Microsoft.

GH85Carrera 12-11-2014 11:26 AM

Well, no additional cost to update.

Just installing the driver to do the mirrored RAID was a challenge. You pretty much have to pat your head and rub your tummy while jumping on one foot and sing a tittle number from the play Oklahoma!

My mother told me a million times not to exaggerate.

flipper35 12-11-2014 12:12 PM

Went through that a while ago on one of our little servers. Had to slipstream a disk with the driver on it.
