Very cool. I only hope they go to enthusiasts / historians and not just rich idiots looking for a new piece of sculpture to impress their friends.

I'd love to get an hour of stick time in either a P51 or Me109 someday - bucket list item.

There is a place in S. Florida that lets you fly some WW2 trainers, and another in the St. Augustine area. Gun cameras, radar so when you shoot another plane it will pop smoke.

I first saw Connie's planes in 1988, He was a friend of my Father in law. I have climbed in all of his planes an and even drove his Sherman Tank. The day his son Tex turned 17 he got rated in every plane Connie owned, T-6 ,Super cub on Floats, PBY, TBM , HU-16 and it was an honer to brief Tex for his oral exams the night before his check ride. Last year when Tex was killed I new Connie would sell most of stash off. It was some of the best of times I ever had around airplanes.

Gary:

Did he ever consider restoring any of the fighters? Or did he not want to expose them to risk by flying them?
