arizonians - need some advice on family vacation spots near Phoenix
We are flying with an extended family of 9 to visit relatives near fountain hills AZ in mid march. The house we were going to rent just cancelled on us. Now I have to find another house rental.
What are some great areas near phoenix to find a vacation home rental. Our kids range from 8-16. I like outdoor stuff. Also, If anyone knows of a nice 3+ bedroom place near Phoenix with a pool that sleeps 8+ people that's available March 11-20, please send me a PM. We might also consider a place within a few hours drive of phoenix

If you're in that area, rent a Jeep or SUV and head up the Apache Trail to Lake Roosevelt. You won't be disappointed! Also, you'll be off Hwy 87, which in it's own right, is very beautiful, up to Payson, and beyond. If renting a Jeep, you can't beat the Sedona Red Rock area, get a map and enjoy on your own, skip the tours. Also, loop up to Flagstaff and take Hwy 89 down to Sedona, then to Jerome, and Old Cottonwood is great too. The Montezuma's Castle off I-17 in Camp Verde is worth a visit, old Indian cliff dwelling. Get there early, avoid the senior citizen 'rush'~! Now go find that rental house!

Make sure wherever you go it is warm. Went to Sedona many years ago and the pool was closed because it was too cold. Air temp was 72F.

Really? 72 in the day means it gets down into the 40s at night in the desert. No way would you want to swim in the pool. It hurts my hand just putting it in the water in ours to unhook the vacuum! If you want to swim this time of year, find and indoor pool. |
