Bucket list event today. Oh my!!
I had the very rare opportunity to get a guided tour today of a car collection belonging to this guy. Oh my!!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkMQfOJkQqQ Every collection has a unique theme and this one is characterized by "rare", and lots and lots of horsepower. Race cars dating back to the beginning of the 20th century, street rods, purpose built performance cars, classic muscle cars. Whatever tickles his fancy. Only 2 Porsches today though. A 1963 356-4 cam (rare air), and a Carrera GT. We agreed not to share pics of our visit but this previously filmed video gives a better view anyways. Enjoy! |
I am jealous. I would love a tour of that place.
He is the definition of a "car guy" that knows a LOT about every car he owns. It is not just a museum. |
nice! did you get the tour by "the guy" ??

I got to go through his place in Burbank about 25 years ago. I went in with his MC mechanic. An old side car racer, Mike Pardi. Nobody else there, he needed to do something and I was left alone to look. I spent most of my time looking at his MC collection. Even then his car and motorcycle collection was impressive.
Another MC collector in Pasadena, Dean Hensley had a party for pre 15 bikes about twice a year, Leno always showed up with something great and all the women got their pictures taken with him. He always seemed easy going and approachable. |
Very cool! How did you get that tour?

Didn't he add a 918 to the stable? Or perhaps it was a show and tell segment.

I see him a few times a month, tooling along Vineland or San Fernando in some cool contraption or riding shotgun in a flatbed while they transport one of his toys. Nice guy, always jeans and denim shirt, very approachable and loves to talk cars. Great you were able to go into the "inner sanctum"!
