Hutch Trickstar BMX Frame

So I scored this 1986 Hutch Trickstar frame the other day and I'd like to know what these pegs welded on the bottom of the rear drop out are for. Plus how hard would it be to fix the broken weld?

That doesn't look like much of a score to me, unless you're a hutch or freestyle bmx freak.
I had a prostar back in the day and really thought I was the shiz. Cool bike.
It looks like a simple reweld job but then replating or polishing is needed for that shiny hutch look.

Trickstar frames are worth quite a bit, however the 990 mounts (brake bosses on the chain stay) were added after the fact and do not look like a quality job. The actual brake bridge with the Hutch logo could be repaired. Is the seat tube bent or is that just the photo? Expect Byron to jump in soon and see if you want to trade something for it..

That's the old crappy seat post that is bent. I wouldn't have bought it if it was not a Trickstar frame. I put it on ebay last night and am getting a bunch of questions about it. I figured he would jump in. The crappiest trickstar frame I have seen sell sold for 505.00 a few months ago. Mine is in a little better shape. I rode a lot as a kid These are the bikes I always wanted as a kid and couldn't buy. So now when I see them I snap them up. I bought this one to help a guy out with some extra Christmas cash for his kids. Don't get me wrong I'm gonna make a couple bucks on the deal to.

Ya I didn't figure it was worth good money. I'm guessing 4-450 bucks on eBay. If not I'll just keep it. I always wanted a pink one when I was a kid.

Chris LaiGaie That's a Windstyler with a gusset add on. Crappy welds. Brake Bridge is wrong, dropouts, top tube length....The real prototypes all had Judge drop outs on frames and forks. Woody Itson will give you a clue I'm sure.

Woody Itson That's not a prototype as Chris stated above, not even close to the first bikes Mike and I got. Also for the record, Judge forks were based on the early freestyle forks. Happy Holidays fellas.

Then do it, I know a guy who can fix that frame, a good powder coater than powder it pink and own what you wanted as a kid. I had a Pink one & a Blue one BITD.

Some of My currant Hutch bits.

And my currant Trick Star & stuff..

And I still have my Pink Buff bars from BNID, so we could get a color match for you.
