Kim Basinger dancing in front of a set of blinds to "you can leave your hat on."
John Belushi singing with him on SNL.

RIP Joe.

Sad to hear. Cocker was great, and Mad Dogs and Englishmen was a masterpiece. There was so much bad music at that time. Crosby, Stills, and Nash, Joe Cocker, and The Band saved my musical sanity.

Here I thought wd was going to stir up trouble about another passed singer.

The first song I remember of his was "She came in through the bathroom window".

If you've not seen it, find the movie "Festival Express" You'll enjoy it immensely.

Heartbreaking. Saw him at the Royal Oak theater as a teenager and have been a rabid fan ever since.

The great band in the sky just got a whole lot greater.

Rats. I always enjoyed his music. He sang other folks' songs with far more emotion than they could muster themselves.

I went to see him at a local dinner and show kind of venue sometime in the early '80's. We never did see him. Er, actually we did, for a few brief moments as he tried to hold himself up with the mic stand and slobber and mumble his way through the first song. He was massively effed up on something. They yanked him before he could further embarrass himself, and dinner was on the house. It was too bad; I was really looking forward to seeing him.

A one-of-a-kind artist. Lived hard, lived well. RIP Joe.

A more somber example for a final good-bye.

I hope he got most of it done.

RIP JC
