I tried searching, however not knowing anything about this device I was not able to figure out what it is. I ran across it in the middle of know where and it peaked my curiosity. So since google failed me I figured someone out there must have a remote idea on what this is.

I would guess it is sort sort of signal relay. Likely for microwaves.

Possibly gathers signals from devices in the area and sends the information over landlines- water meters would be one use.

That's a utility pole. Various utility companies hang wires and install equipment on them.

I think that's a router and antenna for a Mesh Network. Like Glen, and rwest said, it picks up signals from cellular devices built into service meters. The square antenna could be a range extender.

Ha, I was going to say Cisco too. I didn't have a clue what it was but it's always good to say Cisco.

Unless General Bethlehem made up some more laws after he got kilt, there's only 8 of em.
But then again, the postman took his spot sp I 'spose he coulda made more laws.
Ford lincoln mercury tried to make one: live and let live.

But he didn't have the power to do that. He claimed it was an executive order but he was imediately impeached and executed for unconstitutional acts.
