Hagerty seems quite a bit overpriced when compared to Allstate.
Since it's my 3rd car, the 911 costs me $300 a year under Allstate.
Turns out, Hagerty is significantly more expensive than Allstate. With Hagerty, it's more like $550 with a $32k stated value. Deciding I prefer a stated value policy, and never want to haggle with an adjuster on NADA book value. There is a large price range based on interpretation of condition, and I can't even find a look up value on the KBB site (doesn't go into the 1980s) If KBB value for a 3.2 is about $25k, I am now thinking I might as well stay with Allstate for $300/year instead of doubling my insurance to $600/year just for another $5k of coverage. Hagerty seems quite a bit overpriced when compared to Allstate. COLLISION Deductible Cost 5000 125 2500 134 1000 151 500 162 200 171 100 176 COMPREHENSIVE Deductible Cost 5000 153 2500 164 1000 185 500 199 200 209 50 216 I notice that the collision is almost identical to Allstate rates ($162 vs $150 with $500 ded.) but the comprehensive is way higher at Hagerty ($70 vs $199 with $500 ded.) What level did you choose?

I went to Hagerty last year for all my pre-75 cars. I wanted the "stated value" policies and thought I was saving money over AAA tradition insurance coverage. Just one week later I got a letter from AAA saying they cancelled my umbrella policy!
I called to AAA raise hell and the underwriter told me about AAA's new Collector Car Program. It turned out to be better coverage for basically the same cost as Hagerty. They did stated-value on everything and reissued my umbrella. If you have an umbrella, check with your current policy to see if Hagerty voids the coverage. I recommend you call AAA before going with Hagerty.

For me to get the declared value for my SC with hagerty, I had to have the car appraised it was a PITA but we came to an agreement and I left my deductible at 500 with a 1K glass deductible. I can do glass myself.
I also have what is known as the traveling collector, I have no milage restrictions what so ever and my agent actually encourages me to drive the car across country.

Interesting - I have a 0 deductible with them. My premium is under $200 a year and the car is valued at what I would say is market value.

Maybe your stated value was so far over KBB value that it raised some red flags for fraud alert. It would make sense that if you tried to insure your SC for $600,000 they might suspect intended fraud.

I just requested a quote for someone aged 62 in Oregon, and I still got a $600 quote for $0 deductibles. You must have a very old policy b/c Hagerty isn't handing out anything close to $200 policies anymore. Do you actually have collision and comprehensive, or just liability?

Now in 993 land ...

The difference will be when it is time to pay up. Hagerty will be no questions asked, fixed at your shop of choice with the methods your restoration guy recommends. The other providers likely will want to go with standard collision repair methods and rates, nickel and diming you to death. It is getting worse across the board in the industry too, IMHO.

Ok, so that is a justification to pay the almost 100% premium for Hagerty. Thanks!

I have zero deductible for Comp. And $500 for collision for my 82 Targa. $280 per year with the agreed value of $30K.
Haggerty partnered with Nationwide and I used my insurance agento switch the policy. My premium dropped $320 with better coverage.

My 97 M3 went from 1600 on Liberty Mutual to 350 at Hagerty. I think the deductible is $500 and stated value is $17K.

As far as the umbrella goes, you need to make sure the Hagerty limits match your non-hagerty cars. Since umbrella encompasses all, they want similar amounts.. I couldn't get umbrella either until I bumped my hagerty cars to a higher level (for $10 mind you).
Like someone else said, the proof is in the pudding. Hagerty pays, no questions... |

How are people getting $350 quotes from Hagerty when I am getting $600 quotes with a clean record?

Dunno... Maybe their rates are different for slightly newer cars, the assumption being you'll drive your 86 more than I'll drive my 72 ? I think the benefit comes with numbers... the more cars you have with them, the cheaper it gets. I pay about $230 per car per year, with the coverage pegged, but all my cars are older than 73 (not sure that's why, just guessing) !

Automobile Club…
1975 911S $40,000 Agreed value (yes $40K on a 75 911S) $500,000 Bodily Injury $100,000 Property Damage $300,000 Uninsured Driver Deductible $0 Comp, $500 Collision $272 Annual Premium AAA is always excellent when it comes to covering claims. I know. My wife or daughter manage to do damage at least once per year.

Know this is a slippery slope, but I think you might want to get another opinion on your car's worth?
This is what NADA says: Low Retail $20,900 Average Retail $24,900 High Retail $43,200 I'm also assuming your car is probably in better than average condition, maybe even top of the line, but even it's in the middle of the two, you should be at $34,050.00.

$35,000 stated value is going to put close to $700 a year with Hagerty
KBB values are quite high and updated. It might make more sense to go with blue book value at Allstate for $300. Hugh and Craig, for the sub-$300 quote, how many cars do you have insured with them?

How do you guys get these quotes? I used hagertys on line quotes, and it was in the thousands for a 50,000$ car. Clean record, no daily driver, etc...
Just did the calculator... 1988 porsche 930. 1000 miles max. $1400!!! That's for a stored, driven 5 times per year car. If you hit that you use the car for occasional pleasure use, it's twice that. State Farm is $600 per year. If I put the car in storage for 6 months, it's 330$ per year. And I. An drive it to work in a blizzard if I wanted to. Either their online calculator is way off, or there is something I'm missing. For those of you paying $200 per year. Go on their calculator, as I am curious what it spits out.
