Do ya think this.....
Radio would be OK for my Porsche. I already have an aftermarket now so I'm guessing the original plugs have been f***ed, so thought this one might be OK. The one I have now is not too great. What do you think??http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1419973697.jpg
The originals are quite hard to come by, and might be hard to install if all my hook-ups are buggered |
That looks good and not too "modern". It should fit right into the dash space nicely. I'm not a stereo guy so others may have better opinions.

I'm not into big whompin' stereos, just enough to keep me mildly entertained. It's mostly about how it's going to look. Thanks for your thoughts. |
I'm happy with my Blaupunkt Toronto - Bluetooth, onboard SD card, USB port and AUX jack pretty much makes it fully connected. Plain black face. A recent poster on another thread put anti glare cell phone material over the face.
Blaupunkt Toronto 420 BT CD receiver at Crutchfield.com And at only $150 - it's a bargain. |
Does that unit have bluetooth connectivity? You may not feel you have a need for it, but the CD / MP3 disks are going the way of the cassette and 8-track...
IF it doesn't have BT connectivity, you can buy a BT receiver for cheap that will plug into your mini-stereo AUX input. I use that in my Ford Explorer Sport Trac, and it works perfect for music - but you don't get any readout on the radio display, which I don't have an issue with... -Z |
Thanks, keep the tips and advice coming.

Bluetooth, MP3, Ipod.?? I'm just barely able to use a radio with one knob. (The dial telephone was also a challenge). BTW that's a nice little Porsche you got there. I had one just like it.

Nice dash, much better with no radio, cool steering wheel too.
That shift knob looks, familiar. |
I bought one of the Retrosound Zuma's for my Targa thinking it would look like it belonged in there (and still had knobs!). It sounds OK (not great) but is still somewhat out-of-place with the crummy digital display. I wish I had waited for the Blaupunkt Toronto 420 BT.

This is a pic of the aftermarket radio in my 993 now. Doesn't look too bad, maybe better than the Panasonic CQ5255 that I mentioned, but it would be more modern
with CD instead of cassette and MP3 etc. BTW these older cars with load-up CD shufflers in the trunk, I think, was the lamest invention ever. Did anyone ever actually use them? I never did. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1420321750.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1420321773.jpg |
I'd much rather have an SD card slot on a stereo than a CD changer. (CD's don't like hot weather.)
