Sale cars look like crap on...
Wheeler Dealers. I've noticed this over and over. On Wheeler Dealers often when Mike goes to look at a car for sale it looks pretty filthy. It's unwashed, the wheels are dirty but time and again the interior and especially the carpets are filthy. How hard is it to simply run a vacuum over the carpets - is this a UK thing? Do you not want to get the maximum amount for your car?
Onewhipped - you probably look at more cars than most on here, do you find this a lot?

I noticed that too - when I sold my 944, I made sure it was clean inside and out. Even took out the seats and vacuumed the area underneath. Then again, I try not to dirty up the interior of my car as much as possible...
Must be a Brit thing -- I guess they take care of their cars like they take care of their teeth! -Z

I don't think it's restricted to the Brits.
When my daughter was looking for an Accord as her first car, I couldn't believe what we saw when she made up her list of cars to look at. We got lucky and found a guy selling one that he'd kept as clean as I keep my own cars.

Oh come on now. This is reality TV. They look at the cars beforehand, know what's wrong with every car, and they know what is needed on each and every car they take into their "garage".I love the show, and get lots of info from each one. But, it is scripted.

I realize there are some dogs out there but I suppose I'm a bit like Z-man, I'll detail a car to the nines before I put it up for sale.

The idea is to make the cars go from ugly to good looking in a short amount of time.
They probably dirty up the cars on porpoise. Besides, there aint nothing Edd can't fix with his trusty rattle can

They buy the cheapest of a given model they can find as long as it is semi-roadworthy.......I have yet to see them buy a puff.

I'm yet to buy a car that I haven't felt the need to detail. Some far more so than others. Most people treat their cars like a trashcan on wheels.

Ayup, my truck looks like hell after salmon season is over and if it starts raining soon thereafter, it stays that way till spring.

One thing that we have absolutely DRILLED into our kid's heads is that "DIRT COSTS YOU MONEY!" Does little good to repair the oil leaks and then leave the oil/dirt residue all over the under carriage/engine bay...
Doesn't matter what you are selling, if it is dirty, you're likely to have to knock some $$ off it to sell it. If it is sparkling clean, you'll have more people likely to buy and nearly all will pay more for it. Cars, houses, furniture, clothing - anything you sell. Clean it thoroughly. angela

When I sell a car, I go over it looking for objections. What might a buyer decide is a problem and cause them to move on? Then I do my best to remove every objection that I possibly can. Can I buff out that scratch? Yes! One possible objection removed. Can I clean that smudge from the headliner? Another one gone!
