The layout I show is digital (constant AC track voltage carrier with digital signal) and the analogs will run at full speed on a digital layout. Interesting to watch until it derails.

I restored and converted one of the old 60's locomotive to digital.

That'll never happen. This bud of mine never sells anything. If he finds out someone wants it, he really digs his claws in.
I wouldn't sell it either. Plus, it was bought in Germany the last time his folks were stationed there, early '60s, when he was born. Both his folks are gone now.
Aren't Maerklins still handmade? I saw a section on German news station (ARD, ZDF) showing them doing repairs on old locomotives. All by hand. The women working there were masters at hand painting the restorations. They all said they loved their jobs, and would never leave voluntarily.
