Bought a house about a year and a half ago that was built in 1919. The bath on the main floor was hideous, didn't even have a shower. I finally got around to totally redoing it.

All looks good, except that tape joint above the toilet. That would drive my OCD ass crazy...

Ya, my drywalling skills are not up to par. I thought the textured painted wallpaper would hide it better.

I would probably have turned the fleur de lis 90 degrees clockwise to point at the sink.

Busy pattern but it works. I like the tub! After all that hard/heavy work you really need to spend an afternoon and correct the mentioned tape joint. I'll bet you can find a handy man who does drywall to fix that for a $100 - easy afternoon job.

I spent quite a while debating the positioning of the medallion. Centered on the tub, centered on the sink, which way it should be facing. In the end I went with centered on the room and facing the entrance.

I'm thinking of it from the perspective of focal point. It leads your eye and in the pic makes the room feel narrower than it may be. My personal opinion is you stand at the sink more often and the tub runs left right so that orientation feels more natural for me. It all flows in the same direction.

It may give a different impression in person than in the photos and it's your bathroom.

Long as you are happy with it who cares what I think.

What shower hardware did you use per chance?
I also did a clawfoot --> shower conversion for the rental but the first set of curtain-hanger parts from internet were extremely poor quality.
A careless yank and the whole thing would come down. Not good.
The second set were only a bit more substantial but both looked like they were made by the same company.
In the quest of over-engineering, I ended up putting in a couple of support down rods from the ceiling, which of course affects the sliding of the curtain.
Having water splash in the corner was a big concern.
Ended up using three washable cloth liners hung on the bead-type rollers(these are nice).

The tub, sink and toilet are all from Barclay Products Limited due to the plaster walls I used rather large toggle bolts to attach to wall and ceiling. I wouldn't go trying to do chin-ups from the curtain rod, but it is fairly sturdy.

It took me about a month, working on it after getting home from work and on the weekends (when I wasn't traveling). Didn't really keep track of the number of hours.
