You have to be careful not to overtighten those. The piece at the bottom that the threaded rod goes into on the tensioner is a kind of hard black plastic that reminds me of bakerlite.
If you keep winding up the tension too much (and its the opposite rotation too - you "undo" the bolt to tighten the tension) it will just snap...ask me how i know that.....:-( |

You're describing my first time. I didn't loosen the lock enough. One gentle twist and I heard/felt the snap. You should have heard the cussing. Mine was some cast pot metal crap.
