A "Pelican" Wine Tasting in SoCal?
Hi all -
I'm going to be in SoCal at the end of the month with some wine selling appointments and vintner dinners, and thought I'd test the waters and see if we would like to get together somewhere and do a bit of wine tasting? As I recall, there are some other vintners on the forum, and if there is enough interest I'll do the "logistication" and try to pull together a venue. We only make Cabernet Sauvignon at Dos Lagos Vineyards, and I'll have a couple of vintages with me (2010 and 2012). If there are some wine aficionados that would like to taste our stuff - we can get together somewhere I'm sure. If some of the other wine producers want to showcase what they've got, I'll be the coordinator and get something set up. My plans have me in SoCal on or about the 26th of JAN, thru the following week (-ish) depending upon demand. I'll certainly be in San Diego on the 3rd for a pouring.... I thought I'd throw it out there, I know there are some of you who are big into wine and I know there are others like me who are wine producers....if the stars line up we might make an event out of it!! You can ping me here via PM or at td All the best - ![]() Tom Dos Lagos Vineyards Dos Lagos Vineyards - HOME Shameless Plug for Dos Lagos Vineyards: Dos Lagos Vineyards is on Atlas Peak, Napa Valley at 1,650 ft. We only grow Cabernet, and sell most of the fruit to our winemaker Robert Foley. He makes a few hundred cases for us each vintage. The crop was previously sold to Caymus (2007) and prior to our purchasing the vineyard it was sold to Stag's Leap. If you know those wineries, and Robert Foley, you have an idea about the flavor profile of our big, elegant Cabernet Sauvignon. For whatever reason, our vineyard produces fruit that has a very lush and soft mouthfeel for such a big wine, and the tannins are strong but well rounded and feel 'soft' on the palette. retail is $125 per bottle |

Sounds good, but my wife isn't a fan of wine. Too bad.

I would love to try some premium cab but I am only in LA until the 25th. At only 200 cases, you are certainly at the small pointy end of production volume. Maybe next time.
