Well he's not walking with a cane but rather a golf club and I've tried to spot the infraction. Where does the vid show him swinging the club at the officer?

masraum 01-31-2015 02:38 PM

When a cop asks you to put your golf club down. Put it down. At one point he walks off frame without using the golf club as a cane, so it's not like he was going to fall over if he had dropped it. I just don't understand people.

It didn't

herr_oberst 01-31-2015 02:41 PM

Wow. Who cares if he "swung a club" (which I didn't see), he doesn't deserve this.

john walker's workshop 01-31-2015 02:41 PM

ya wonder why the justice dept is investigating them? that beeech got reassigned. then there's the recent vid of a professor on his cell phone casually walking past a line of cops and getting a blast of pepper spray. lawsuit on that one. i don't think anything can rein them in.

stomachmonkey 01-31-2015 02:44 PM

There is nothing illegal or suspicious about walking around with a golf club.

He did nothing wrong.

nynor 01-31-2015 03:27 PM

"it's a weapon!" holy mackerel.

Ayles 01-31-2015 03:54 PM

I'm usually very pro cop, but something really has to change with them.

They are no longer there to protect or serve, EXCEPT themselves.

nynor 01-31-2015 04:21 PM

a fostered us vs. them mentality, along with a lot of militarization.... what could go wrong?

afterburn 549 01-31-2015 04:22 PM

I dont know what i am missing, what was he stopped for ? ( PC? )

jorian 01-31-2015 04:23 PM

Let's say he did swing the club. He's on the sidewalk. She's 25 feet away. In a car. Cops are supposedly hired for their ability to use good judgement. Don't see that here.

afterburn 549 01-31-2015 04:29 PM

Hopefully he will win a lawsuit case against the power hungry BIOTCH !

URY914 01-31-2015 04:29 PM

Do what the police tell you to do. Easy really.

nynor 01-31-2015 04:32 PM

yes, because bowing to the police state is the only way to live.

Baz 01-31-2015 04:39 PM

Stuff like this pisses me off!

The guy is suing the SPD for $750K....I hope he gets it!

BE911SC 01-31-2015 04:42 PM

Well he is a black man after all.

I agree. But in this case she didn't use good judgement in the first place during that encounter. How's he going to do any damage to her either with or without a golf club? Really dumb and really over reach.

It all depends. In this case she was not using good judgement so I don't have a problem with the guy refusing. But there are other times it is very reasonable to expect a person to do what the cop says because his life could be in danger. I can see that scenario happening a LOT! It's not about giving up a freedom - it's about working with those who are trying to help our communities.

Absolutely. I will heartily agree that there appeared to be little to no reason for her to stop to talk to him.

And if he had done that, none of this probably would have happened.
