Ok, in Sept 1939 the Nazis invaded Poland. What is overlooked/ignored by the press/thus many don't realize, was that at the same time the commies invaded Poland.....took approximately half of the county. The Germans were widely castigated by the West (war declared) but the Russians were given a free pass.
There was a very good argument for the US to keep out of European wars. The shifting alliances there made a wise choice of sides impossible. Yes, support of democracies was the best bet......but Russia was NOT one. Enemies of my enemy is not a good enough basis to consider a country an ally. "I can handle Uncle Joe" was one history's and FDR's biggest lies. The Finns were another sacrificial lamb. |
I was interested to learn that the famous sniper duel in Stalingrad probably didn't happen.
The greatest sniper duel in history is a myth There is a lot of myth and propaganda involved in war telling. Putin is using that now, to manipulate the Russians over Ukraine. It seems the Russians of another era may have done that with the "sniper duel". Likely Americans are being manipulated in a similar manner by the Chris Kyle movie. |
