someone I would like to have known
Anita Darian died last week. She is one of those people whose work you know, but you never hear her name.
She was primarily a classical singer with a 4 octave range. She also was: The operatic voice on "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" A voice on Alvin and the Chipmunks The eerie background voice in Mickey&Sylvia's "Love is Strange" Remember, "If you want to bring out the flavor and bring out the zest, just bring out the Helman's and bring out the best?" That was her. She was in the Leonard Berstein's kazoo band. Plus a bunch of high-brow stuff. She seems like she would have been a lot of fun. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/02/08/arts/music/anita-darian-a-singer-with-an-eclectic-range-dies-at-87.html?_r=0

Yes, a wonderful voice...I remember.
The human voice is a unique instrument!
