How to find 993TT pricing

OK, I goggle 993 tt pricing but very little info is out there and not sure if they are current. Is there anyway to find out what they are really selling for? Now, I am itching to know because on another thread, someone mentioned they are 190k range  for a nice low miles example. If its that much, I have to think what to do?

Noah930 02-12-2015 09:21 PM

The car I mentioned in the other thread is a pampered 27k-mile example, which is why it could command a premium (plus it would be sold at a P-car dealer in that situation). I think most 993tt would be in the lower half of the $100k range. Moot point (for me) because either way it's way outta my price range.

Yeah, your post made me lose some sleep last night. :D I am now very curious. It has 26k on the odo. I should get on the ball with it. sitting under cover in some corner isn't doing the car any good. Do you know of a place that might give any indication of pricing or similar cars sold in the past year or even two?

look 171 02-12-2015 09:49 PM

Hey, you're not selling the 930 are ya?

Noah930 02-12-2015 10:07 PM

Excellence magazine puts out valuation articles. They have an annual issue with all Porsches, as well as monthly update articles in their regular issues.

Keeping the 930. Just looking for a car to hotrod a bit.

Thanks

A couple of people mentioned that our 930s are worth a few bucks. I was shocked to hear that they are in the 55-60k range. I wasn't too interested in pricing back when he spit out these numbers because I weren't selling, never. How many miles are on yours? I just cracked 55,000.

The 996 turbo is a great hot rod all right.

Noah930 02-12-2015 10:24 PM

There's a thread on the turbo form that's trying to keep abreast of current 930 prices. It seems like driver- quality 930s are going for about $60K, with nice garage queens fetching twice that.

My car's a driver. It's got almost twice as many miles on it as yours.

I remember thinking the 993tt was insanely priced at 120K new. I was in high school and a friend's well off father bought one. We never did get around to sneaking it out.

Asking prices look all over the map. Are you buying one or have you just bought one?

I'd look at closed Ebay auctions for an idea.

I have a 993TT on my bucket list, but it looks like I may kick that bucket before ever owning one. At some point you have to weigh how long you want to keep working hard vs. the list of toys you need to accumulate.

I have a turbo cab, so it can work against or for me depending on who's knocking on the door? I better up my agree value. (thanks for the tip on AAA, but they no longer accept classic car insurance) I still have it at 45k. Its no garage queen, period correct BS, but not driver neither. I wonder if a rebuilt hot motor hurts value? It polishes up pretty nicely.

Bought it about a year and a half ago from an old friend who lost interest on it years prior. Its been sitting in the same place for that time until two months ago, it went to get all fluids changed and whatever else needed attention. Now it sits in a corner of a body shop waiting for a new bumper or get it fixed? Folk lift scrapes and gouges. K24s and cams are already in it.

aigel 02-12-2015 11:34 PM

Nice, My 993 has nice paint, maybe we can work out a trade!? :D

I'd get this out of the body shop ASAP. No excuse for something sitting for a bumper paint. Turn on that should be a few days. Its not going to get any prettier either, sitting ... I can't stand shops that sit on work. Take it to TRE - they'll hook you up.

Seems like $100k is the absolute floor for the 993TT, with most in the $120k-$140k range. Excellence is really the only guide, but if you look around you'll see the price range that they seem to be trading in.

RacerX1166 02-13-2015 03:54 AM

I think a few recently changed hands over on RL. Since they were private sales, and not dealers, I'm guessing the ask and actual prices were somewhat close. Suffice to say, they're going through the roof.

I'm just glad I bought my 993 when I did.

I knew a guy who was the paint shop boss at a CarMax who snagged a 993tt as soon as it came in for $45k. That was around 2003. It was in excellent shape, needed a good detailing and the ride height looked high. But a very good snag. I'm just holding out for when a clean N/A 993 C2 goes for $100k.

The paint is pretty damn god on it, but I will trade you bumpers:D

Its me, not the shop. I am dragging my feet, he's restoring four cars, a 65, and three other early cars for my friends so I piggy back mine in there. We all got a smoking deal. For me, its for storing the car until I can create more space. They only restore porsches and are up in Venture.

Next time you're down my way, you should bring that beast. SmileWavy

We may be in a special time - stocks at all time high and money that has nowhere to go. People are looking for tangible assets.

What I find interesting is how the drop of the Euro will affect early car prices.
