Avoid anybody who ships via Pitney Bowes ?

So a package I'm waiting for got transferred to a "shipping partner", Pitney Bowes, over two weeks ago and has vanished. I've tried contacting Bowes, and I can't even get to a human on the phone. I then look up complaints against them and find a boatload of experiences similiar to mine: https://www.consumeraffairs.com/business/pitney_bowes.html How does a place like this stay in business? Guess I'm just venting and want to at least sully their name for my trouble. I once ordered an item that was sent via Pitney Bowes and it took FOREVER to arrive. I could've walked the damn thing here in less time. Tracking was worthless too. Never again...

My only experience with Pitney Bowse . I had a postage meter, probably 25 years ago . It was near impossible to get out of their ' one year " contract. It would auto renew every year, and you only had something like a 15 day window to cancel in writing. I marked the date on my calender the second year, and mailed the non renewal notice to them, and they then claimed that it never got to them in time . Tired to strong arm me into a 3rd year . After Vinny Denucci came and broke my knee cap, a Hells Angel beat me with a ball bat, then I found a horsehead in my bead, they finally let me out of the contract . . I actually just stopped writing the checks to them, and said " sue me". They never did Pitney Bose will never get a penny from me again

I was going to mention the postage meter thing as well. At one point they were the default for office postage. 8 years ago i was looking for a postage meter for my office and figured PB was the way to go. I was stunned at the volume of negative reviews PB had out there for their service. Bad enough that i'd never use them.

That’s weird because they used to be the gold standard for postage meters. Made in USA, everyone on earth used them, etc. I wonder what happened?

All I ever really knew them for, as Speeder noted above, was postage meters. Well ,that and the timeless tagline "Absolutely Mr. Pitney, Positively Mr. Bowes!" _
