You just discovered this? They've been gone for a few years now. Absolutely tragic; they made some fine repros.

Their last run of Single Actions was so much better than Colt at the time that many of us were saying Colt should just hand SAA production over to them. The only issue with USFA's were they did not say "Colt" on them. As such, they will never be worth much. Such a shame.

As much as I love my SAA's, I know nothing about Colt double actions. This has been an informative thread - big thanks to Fred and tabby for enlightening us on these fine revolvers. Keep it coming... :)

Wana bet?

Saw a mint USFA 1911 go for 1500 this weekend. Thought about it but I have the real deal so I passed.

Thanks for posting the photos Fred. I had forgotten about the older DA Colts having the knurred cylinder latch until I checked my Army Special. Really no reason for the knurlling since the latch is pulled rather than pushed, just a little more work on their part.

Quite literally he has every Colt DA made from 1910 to 1940. Every model in every caliber in every B length and every finish.

I've run across a couple of other folks with collections like that. Building such a collection takes years of work, lots of cash and a good bit of luck!
