I know more than a few people who have their bikes trucked into Sturgis.

Looks like fun... but also looks crazy busy/crowded, can't imaging the crowd on an anniversary.

Point is mute because my motorcycle riding days are over.

Also if the TV documentary is true doesn't seem like my kind of environment, lots of drunkenness and loose women (not that there is anything wrong for that) ;)

Those that truck their bikes are really missing the soul purpose of the ride and of owning them.

I am not sure why they even own them if they trk them ,,,but to each there agenda..just look to kool maybe?
Stay off the interstates and take the red roads. See the old dead twns.

Only problem being some of those loose women are attached to some bada$$ biker ;).

And yes, I am presuming that mixed in with the posers there are some real bikers like afterburn... and some not so friendly biker gang types will be in attendance.

Would love to go but my I'll up in Desolation Sound with the fam.

It's about 1400 miles from here so I'd need a week to do the round trip. I hear the ride is better than the destination.

If you're asking to come along, the more the merrier. Desolation Sound is one of the coolest places on earth. If you're looking to sell one, I already have two boats. Trying to sell one for about 25% of what I have in it. :rolleyes:

All I have are Italians and metric bikes anyway. Not too much love for those in Sturgis I hear. Nothing against the American iron, I'm just not a cruiser.... yet. Mebbe in another 10-15 years.

Nah, in the old days they used to be scorned, In the old days you would not dare to let anyone know you trailered there .
It is so homogenized now no one cares .
Just a buch of wanabes looking for a drunk good time with all the vendors there with a hand out.
I used to sail the puget sound area......

I'm not qualified. No open exhaust, No ape hangers, can't ride with both feet down thru 3rd gear, can't sit in bar during daylight, can't sit in traffic an hour in 100 degree heat, tend to wear clothes under chaps, no trailer to tow in, etc, etc

Never been to Sturgis for the rally, but I did hang out in Daytona for Bike Week about 10 years ago. Man, those middle aged Harley guys behave badly. I've never seen anything like it.
